HIRING Summer Student – Assistant Outreach and Development Director

Zuppa Assistant Outreach and Development Director (1 position)


To be eligible, you must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment*; and,
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

*International students are not eligible.


Zuppa Theatre Co. is an acclaimed theatre company creating and performing work in Halifax and internationally. The Assistant Outreach and Development Director should be a highly motivated, budding artist or arts administrator with an entrepreneurial spirit.

The Assistant Outreach and Development Director will work on a variety of projects, including creating a marketing plan and materials for Zuppa’s new production The Movements, doing market research for our touring show Pop-Up Love Party, as well as developing Zuppa’s fundraising and sponsorship strategies, alongside other tasks.

The individual will be supervised by administrator Anika Riopel and regularly engage with co-artistic directors Ben Stone and Alex McLean, and social media manager Stewart Legere.

Experience with video creation and editing software, excel, fundraising, promotions and audience development are assets, though not essential.

This position can be completed in person or remotely. The student would have the option of working at the Zuppa Office, 1480 Carlton St, Halifax, Nova Scotia.


8 Weeks x 40 hours a week. Monday May 30th – Friday, July 22nd. (Specific start and end dates are negotiable).

Monday – Friday 9:30AM – 5:30PM.


$21.25 hour X 35 hours per week X 8 weeks (minus CPP, EI and tax deductions)
